This model is a Blucher, with a smooth upper and no ornament. The original Budapest last is characterised by its high, slightly forward tending-tip.
The upper leather is horse leather, known in the trade as Cordovan. Genuine Shell Cordovan from the Horween Tannery in Chicago is available in limited quantities only, and thus is true rarity. Charateristic of this exclusive material is its especially deep colouring, with an almost metallic sheen. This leather is extremely tough and wears very well, thank to its high content of natural fats.
The insole is stitch-welted. Beneath the insole is a layer of cork, providing additional resilience and insulation. The triple leather outsole is strengthened at the front of the shoe with a metal tip of brass, as well as being strengthened on the sides and at the heel with 66 brass nails per shoe, in the 6-nail pattern typical of DInkelacker.
This model has proven itself for 60 years now and is regarded as one of the absolute classics in the collection.
