double leather sole
The double leather sole consists of an insole and an outsole. All stitch-welted models with a double leather sole have the triple-nail pattern typical of Dinkelacker on the heel and at the toe. As the sole is somewhat less broad in stitch-welted shoes, fewer brass nails are used here. All double-stitched models have the distinctive six-nail pattern. Every pair has 168 brass pins hammered into the sole by hand. These pins or nails not only serve as ornaments, they strengthen the sole, especially in the areas of greatest wear, and thus contribute to the long life of your Dinkelacker shoes. Heinrich Dinkelacker use one of the highest-quality and most durable sole leathers on the market. The sole leathers come from the Rendenbach Tannery in Trier, Germany, and are made according to the so-called pit tanning process (pure plant materials).
